You can play a more active rule in the recruitment process by marketing yourself to the scouts. It will do you no harm to make contact with these professionals and let them know that you are interested in their program. Be sure to have materials on hand that will showcase your abilities such as a video of your best performances.

Know all there is to know about the program. Check what kind of positions will become available so you know if your skills are a match. Determine what style the coach uses to train his players so you know what you are in for. Moreover, check if adequate facilities will be provided by the institution.

Education is still important even though you are a player. In fact, there are academic requirements for all players. Make sure that you are taking the right classes and maintaining the required average. Good academic performance is a factor that will be considered by the coaches.
